WoodRat

The next WoodRat course will be on the 16-17 of April 2012.

If you would like to do a woodRat course please phone 01768 899895.

So you have a WoodRat? Or, you are thinking of getting one? Or, you have had a WoodRat for some time and are ready to know how to use it to its full potential. I have said many times that WoodRat is only limited by your imagination but a few pointers will help you get the most out of this great machine.

Option 1:- If you are thinking of buying a Rat having a go before you commit yourself sounds like a good idea, By coming on my one day course I will take you through: -

WoodRat
  • setting up the machine,
  • how to use it safely,
  • making sliding dovetails,
  • using WoodRat to do moldings,
  • making mortise and tenon joints, including twin tenons
  • And, its star turn, making dovetail joints including half blind dovetails.

This sounds like a lot to get through in one day but we can do it as we are only interested in making the joint, not in a complete project.

If, however, you would like a deeper understanding I am also offering 2 other courses.

Option 2:- This is a 2 day course where you get all of the above plus some of the more interesting stuff but we will be making a finished project so that you get to understand some finishing techniques as well.

Option 3:- Come on a 5 day Course where you will use WoodRat as part of a much larger and more varied program. For more information on my more comprehensive woodworking courses click here

At the moment I am running the WoodRat courses by arrangement so if you are interested please phone 01768 899895 and we will find a date that suits us both.

The cost of the one day course is £85.00 and £170 for the 2 day course this includes the wood that you use for joints and project.

These courses are designed to be informative and fun to do and give you the knowledge that you can put to good use in your workshop.

Having been to WoodRat HQ in Somerset and spent a most enjoyable time with Martin. I, who have had a Rat for 10 years, got a lot out of it. I am now offering you the same opportunity, to learn how to get the most out of this most versatile of machines.
